Found Goodness: Gigi's washcloths

washcloths1 washcloths2 washcloths3I have lunch with my Gigi every Thursday at 12:30 and I treasure our time together. Now that my grandpop is retired, he comes along as well and we sit there and eat, laugh, tell stories, and look up crazy new words they write down off the T.V. for about an hour and a half ........or so :} It is awesome....Gigi also brings me any treats she has made during the week, and I am hoping she has more of these washcloths today since they have been quite popular at the shop! These are the only washcloths I use in my kitchen and I am a big fan!Hope you all have a great day today!xo,Barb

Quotage: Don't be afraid to say......"nope"

saynoThis quote is an excerpt from a book I have been reading called: "Boundaries- When to say yes, How to say no, to to take control of your life" by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend. It has been really, really good for me, and I feel like I added a few new tools {and some great verbage} to my life's tool belt.xo,Barb

Introductions: A beautiful sideboard named "Calpurnia"

calpurnia1 calpurnia2 calpurnia3 calpurnia4 calpurnia5 calpurnia6This lovely piece is one of those that had my heart pitter pattering from the moment she came off the truck! She is built like a house, has a massive long drawer across the top, storage drawers down the middle and cupboards on the sides. Another favorite part of this piece for me is that beautiful way she curves around the edges......soft......beautiful....perfect!I painted Calpurnia with milk paint and then 4 coats of water based polyurethane over the top. I finished her off with toile lined drawers and distressed wooden knobs. I am thrilled with the entire design plan of this piece.....it came together seamlessly!I am in love with miss Calpurnia, and she is available for purchase in the Knack store as well as in the Etsy shop !xo,Barb

Found Goodness: The {dashing} Haberdash Fox

haberdash1 haberdash2 haberdash3This site is such a fantastic idea.....I love it. I can't tell you how many times I have gone on Etsy to search for a really great gift for my man....only to get lost in the endless sea of leather wallets and wool socks. Seriously......The Haberdash Fox is a wonderful tool and very well done. I will no longer get lost in endless seas, but rather..... find myself charting through a well navigated course. Of course.I also really love that The Haberdash Fox was started, and is curated by a couple local guys..... Marco Suarez and Mason Stewart. Here is part of their mission statement:"The Haberdash Fox is a curated collection of the best menswares on Etsy. Our desire is to encourage people to buy quality vintage and unique goods. We believe the value of vintage goods isn't solely in their function, but also in their history. We believe using the goods we already have is important for preserving our natural resources and reducing the impact manufacturing can have on our planet. We also desire to support artisan entrepreneurs."Go, go Greenville awesomeness! Woot!xo,Barb

Introductions: Turquoise buffet named "Indira"

turquoise4 turquoise3 turquoise2 turquoise1This lovely piece is heavy as a mug and full of storage. I have painted countless pieces in this style and even this color.....but I never tire of the results when using this beautiful turquoise. I chose several different knobs to go on this piece....there are many that would work....but this piece may already be headed to her forever home in MA so these knobs are the ones being considered by the client. I love the marbled wood knob with the turquoise, as it balances out the punchy color nicely. I also chose a beautiful red toile' wallpaper for lining the drawers and think it compliments the design plan perfectly. If for some reason this lovely lady does not head to MA....she will be available in the Knack store.....and in the online shop as well :} She won't be with me for very long..... as there is already one person on the waiting list hoping she does not head out.I'll keep you posted!xo,Barb
