Etcetera: Fresh Flowers

It was so nice this week to actually buy fresh flowers again and do some photographing in the shop! Oh how I have missed just simply arranging flowers, furniture, and other fun things and then playing with the camera for an hour...... or so. This truly brings me joy.........and it also means there is a new furniture piece ready for the blog on Monday! I hope you have a great weekend!xo,Barb
Found Goodness: Foundling
{all photos via foundling}
I have long been an admirer of the beautiful pieces made by Betsy Carr that are sold in her shop Foundling. I have the custom ring stack on my Christmas list and want to get our initials {me, husband, and kids} done on "my stack".......and maybe a number or two.....gotta have a number somewhere!I love the organic and simple curves in this jewelry....it is subtle and beautiful.....easy to wear with anything......easy to never take off......sweet and sentimental.....and all of the other good stuff that goes with a timeless design plan.I had the honor and privilege of meeting Betsy this past month during the Indie Craft Parade held here in Greenville! I was so busy helping out in the booths that I realized at tear down we had been standing a mere 5 people away from each other for hours and I didn't even realize it! {I swear the paint fumes are starting to affect my brain} Thankfully, Betsy is not too far away.....and I hope to catch up with her soon!xo,Barb

Introductions - Striped end tables and a giveaway winner

I am currently finishing up a custom job of which these sweet little end tables are a part of....but there is also a chest of drawers, a coffee table, a couch, and a sitting chair that are all going in the same room together. It has been a big job...and one that needed planning so that all of the pieces will blend, but not be bland and blah. I was given total creative liberty, and planned my designs based on the existing wall colors and fabric choices for the bedding, couch and sitting chair.I have used two different base colors of paint for all of the pieces....but then added in a few other complimentary colors with the detail work so that things are a little more on the design end and less on the boring end. I want all of my pieces to be more than just paint and distressing and with these guys, the off centered stripes add a little fun and a bit of masculinity to the feminine lines.I will show you the chest of drawers and coffee table next......they are not quite done yet :}**And now for the big news of the day......the winner of the Olive Box giveaway is......... commenter #18 Melanie! Melanie, please email me your info {barb@knackstudios.com} so that I can pass it along to Olive Box! Congrats!xo,Barb
Etcetera- Throw back furniture memories with Knack

I was downloading the new software system for my IPhone last night, and in order to do so... I had to make room for the software. {oopsie!} I had over 3,000 photos stored on my phone and countless apps that I do not use......so, needless to say...I had some downloading and cleaning up to do.In the process of downloading and cleaning up ....I enjoyed the huge blessing of going down memory lane! It was so cool to go through literally thousands of images ranging from family vacations, trips to NYC, studio moves, furniture tutorials, parties with friends and family, grand openings, etc.....and be inspired and refreshed by the goodness of life and the memories. I am so thankful for life.......and for photography documentation. I truly hope my children will appreciate the fact that I take so many photos....one day.....{wink!}!I pulled out just a few furniture pieces from years gone by.....they are goodies, and I find myself inspired still by the very act of completing them......do you guys remember these old friends?I hope you enjoy them.....and have a great weekend!xo,Barb
