FYI: Valentine banners about being lucky in love

I spent the whole day yesterday shifting the studio around.... and one of my interns this semester, Emily......was a champ and such a huge help to me. I found out that she has a great eye for color and display...and we had a ball! We completely turned the shop on its ear and ended up with some really cool displays! One of my favorite new things in the shop are these super sweet banners made by my friend Mollie Greene of Royal Buffet. There are only 5 in the shop so you better act fast if you want one!xo,Barb
Introductions: A black beauty named Phalidae

This little petite chest is small and perfectly suited to be used as a nightstand, end table.......or you know? That little wall at the end of the hallway that needs just a little something to catch your eye and draw you in? This is that little eye catcher.I am in the middle of working on a collection of neutral colored pieces right now and It has been a while since I have done a true black piece. I have been holding onto these beautiful monarch butterfly knobs for a while now and knew immediately that these beauties were perfect for the size and color of this design. I also had this beautiful butterfly wallpaper and so naturally it completed my plans for this piece.I painted this piece with black milk paint, and then I coated it with four coats of water based polyurethane so it has a really shiny finish over the rustic milk paint. I love the rustic mixed with the shine.....it is so unexpected and right."Phalidae" is available here locally in the shop as well as the etsy shop. She is so special, and I have a feeling she will not be with me long!xo,Barb
Etcetera: Gigi's smocked aprons

Over Christmas my mom opened a present from my Gigi and it was this amazing smocked apron! I soon realized that there was not an apron for me and started begging Gigi to make me one...to which she replied " Oh, I have a bunch of them made up already, you can just pick one!" Yippee Skippee! Pick one indeed I did and it is the yellow one with the turquoise stitching that you see pictured above. {fist pump}I decided to ask Gigi if she would consider selling her aprons because I knew that people were going to flip over them and love them! She was happy to sell them under one condition.......she makes what she wants, when she wants and will not be taking orders. I think that is perfectly legit and am delighted to be able to transfer a little piece of Gigi to you all!The first batch is going fast and the only two that are available right now are the pink and blue. More are coming soon, and I will post them as soon as she sends them my way!The aprons are available in the etsy shop, as well as locally in the Knack shop! Woot!xo,Barb

Found Goodness: It's furniture, and a jewelry box

Last week while out on one of my gathering excursions I came across this little piece of "freshie fresh". I mean.....seriously.....I have seen painted jewelry boxes that tend to look like furniture when painted but I don't think I have ever personally seen an actual PIECE OF FURNITURE that is also a jewelry box! I know they are out there....and you all will probably say that you have seen them everywhere and they are old news......but I have never had the pleasure of such goodness.....until now.I could not believe the happiness of this find...and the little velvet lined drawers are in perfect condition. I will probably take the mirror off....just like I do with my big pieces.....and I am itching to change out the hardware but have not decided on that one yet.I will be sure to reveal the makeover when it is complete!xo,Barb
