Introductions - A tall blue chest named "Pernalia"

I purchased this piece, along with several others, from an estate sale acquisition. It is solid as a rock, heavy as I'll get out, and has great curves that just beg to be painted and noticed in more detail.I was more than happy to oblige with some zippy paint!.....and speaking of zippy paint......I am totally loving this color! It is strong, vibrant, and commanding....which is right where I want my furniture pieces to be. You just can't help but love them.....and they love you right back.I know that I have been on a blue kick this summer and I promise as we head into the fall season there will be plenty of new and exciting colors to devour that do not include blue.....but I have thoroughly enjoyed my blue love fest.I am pleased to introduce you all to ......"Pernalia".Available for purchase at Knack, and also in the Etsy shop.xo,Barb
Etcetera- Roller coaster mania
All photos via pinterest here, here, and here
Well, today.....all day long.....I will be at Carowinds with my family. We have been looking forward to this day all summer. It is kind of like our last "hurrah" before my daughter starts school on Monday! {I absolutely cannot believe school is starting. This summer has flown by! Whew!}I love roller coasters.....but as I get older I am not sure how much they love me anymore! I am just hoping I can hang with JB and the kiddos, scream my guts out, eat food that is really bad for me, and just have the best time ever! I hope I don't embarass my kids and puke, or worse :}......Game on!I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!xo,Barb
Found Goodness- Avocados, a love story
I have been eating my weight in avocados this summer! I just can't seem to get enough of them, and have been whipping up batches of my very favorite Grilled pineapple guacamole from Annie's Eats, making goat cheese and avocado panini's, and I now am ready to try this new black bean recipe that I found on pinterest! I am going to attempt it tonight for dinner....of course the rest of the family will not touch anything with goat cheese, so I will make regular tacos for them! Stinkers! Also, I have to admit to another love story in my life.....and that is with my new found love.......Costco! Oh my, I have wanted to join Costco for the past couple of years and I finally did it this summer. I may or may not make up excuses to just go and peruse the isles. I am telling you, they have the best quality in foods and products....I am loving my new found membership.I know you are wondering why the random mention of Costco.....well, it is not so random, because I buy my avocados there :}For your health. {If anyone knows where that quote comes from, I'll send you a treat!}xo,Barb
FYI- A doe, a deer, a donkey, and a roo

I am so excited to be carrying this brand spankin' new line of goods at Knack! These dancing deer, donkey boy, and kangaroo pillows seriously had me doing a jig when I opened the package! I did a jig, and twirled, and let out a little choked sob scream wail chortle.....and then looked around and was very thankful the paper is still on the windows so that no one had to be subjected to such frivolity and craziness. It almost makes me feel guilty that I get so excited about a shipment of pillows...but then again, if I didn't... I should just quit and close up shop.... pronto. I am very intentional about each and every item that I hand select and put the Knack stamp of approval on...and these have Knack written all over them! Stamp, stamp, stamp! These pillows are just the first part of the goodies to come in this line....look for much more to come!{pillows are $58 ea and are available for immediate purchase} xo,Barb
Introductions- A mirror destined to be a cork board

I usually do not take on small projects such as this....but this fantastic mirror frame belongs to a friend....and I could n0t...would not tell her no. I have to say it was fun to take on a different project just for funsies! I love that she chose gray too....gray is good.I will see if I can get lucky and shoot a "real" after shot once the cork has been installed for the bulletin board...but for now, isn't this frame so pretty?! Love it!My job is done.xo,Barb
Etcetera- Peach cobbler

When I tell you that I have been dying to make a peach cobbler this Summer, I really mean it! I have meant to make one way before now, but I wanted my Aunt Patti's recipe {on my husbands side of the family} from the last time I was visiting them in Kentucky. I remember her cobbler being the best I have ever put in my mouth......and I remembered so right!
I could not wait until it cooled down, and so even with a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream I burnt my mouth on the first bite of "humongous burning hot peach slice"....but my friends......it was a glorious thing!
I swear I heard singing somewhere from the depths of cobbler land.
Have a wonderful weekend!
xo,
Barb
