Introductions
Today I would like to introduce you to my latest! This piece is a really cool little sewing cabinet. So cool, that I used it in not one... but two photo shoots in its "un-painted" state! I have to admit I was a teensy bit nervous about this transformation, and I really wanted to nail it....get it right....hit a home run....you get the picture. You may wonder why this piece is different since I should feel that same pressure with my own pieces.... and I do....but they don't have the sentiment involved.
You see, my client brought this to me from Charlotte, and it is a piece that belonged to her grandmother ...so it is extra special. Miss A loves the piece for its sentimental value, but it did not fit her aesthetic or the memory of her grandmother's spunky personality! Miss A knew exactly what she wanted, and upon perusing my paint samples and details....picked out her color and the paper for the drawer fronts easy peasy. The knobs were a little bit trickier, but she found these at Anthropologie and then shipped them to me. They are perfection, and really finish the piece off nicely.
I am super excited about how this little one turned out, and can't wait to present it to Miss A on Friday!
Good times!....and speaking of good times....I am working on a super fun piece that will hopefully be in the etsy shop by the end of the week.....woot!
Enjoy the day today!
Found Goodness...
I have been organizing my knobs on another level. I had them all sorted by color, but there are so many that I would lose some of them in the piles....so, I have been looking for pieces with little compartments to put each individual knob in.
I was so excited to find these at a yard sale, and the fact that they are painted and chipped...especially the turquoise one.... just adds to the goodness part!

Happenings....
I jumped right back into the studio today and worked on something I have been needing for a while. I am thankful that my friend Tony was willing to help me, and he built these awesome tables that I can use for work space, and display during events and shows. I am super stoked and I love them....love them! Thank you Tony!
Be sure to check out Tony and Lisa's work on their site Zoa Art....they make beautiful things, and I am the proud owner of a ring that I have a hard time taking off my finger! I am thankful that this talented husband and wife duo have moved into the arts district and are just a "yell out the front door" away.
(Better photos coming...I'm organizing away...and getting my game plan on :)

... Every time we visit my husbands family in Kentucky I am blown away by the beauty of the land, the peace and quiet, the simplicity of life, and time that seems to be standing still.
Moments with nature, and with these beautiful animals has charged my batteries.....and made me want to leave everything with reckless abandon and buy a farm!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
I will be working on new furniture this week, and photographing another house full of Knack that you all are going to love!
.....really fun things on the docket! Woot!

Etcetera
JB, the shorties, and I headed out of town yesterday for a long weekend in Nashville. I knew that I would need some pretty things to look at along the way, so I packed these three books to keep me busy ....and let me tell you....I was not able to put the first one that I picked up....down. Holly Becker, who is the creative mastermind behind Decor8 just recently launched her first book, Decorate.....and it is wonderful! So much information is packed into this book, and it had me so inspired...I was furiously "writing things down" on my mental sketchpad! Every photo had me thinking of different ways to design rooms in my home, and inspired me to change out doors, add new front doors, buy more books, get new light fixtures and ....oh my word....I wanted to turn the car around and head home to get started! So much thought went into this book and it deserves every bit of the fantastic attention it is getting right now!
....and not to discount the other two books ....they are wonderful too...but I will tell you about them another day!
For now I am going to sign off until next week, and enjoy some time off with my fam. Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
