plates and things....
.....these awesome plates designed by karen ryan totally caught my eye in the new living etc mag.......it has to be my favorite read out there right now, and the colors and the textures in this months issue are just way to cool.......
stu, stu, studio.......
......today I tackled all of my knobs and the paint closet.......and made a huge dent in getting my work area all set up......then I took a little break from the boxes and put my doilie garland up in the window......it is just so sweet and happy......and driving up and seeing that in the window tomorrow will be fantastic....
.....I'm really getting close......can't wait until the last box goes out and I can shoot the whole studio for you to see.........I'm loving it.....

......I know it sounds crazy....but I am detemined to get super organized in my new space....so I spent a couple hours sorting through all of my hardware........check this out.......

and the air vent comes tumbling down......
{this is taken at night...... sorry for the bad lighting, but you can see the air vent in three pieces here.......and you can also see the new gray walls and black ceiling as well!}

{this is one of the lovely holes that had to be patched before I moved into the space......yum}
......over the last two weeks or so there has been lots going on at 1288 pendleton street as I try to breathe new life into the fantastic space that knack now calls home........ there have been painters, plumbers, and friends coming and going.......but among all the moments of happiness and excitement there were also a few little mishaps......such as the painter calling me and telling me that the air duct had simply fallen from the ceiling and broken into three pieces...but not to worry everything was okay and could be fixed......the sink in the bathroom leaking water from the pipe that had a piece completely missing from it.........my husband setting off the alarm........and plugging in the water cooler {which I have to have for occupancy inspection!} only to have it start billowing stinky gray electrical smoke out the side.........just to name a few....
....I still have a few strands of hair left and have started to speak in complete sentences again.......but it has been one wild and crazy ride.......I have both cried and laughed ........and am ready to tackle a new week and all the many moving in projects still left to do.
I have completely lost a month of painting with all of the packing and unpacking...... and I miss it so much...... but I have a great line up of pieces to start on, and am super excited about the new colors that will coincide with the coming spring season and the theme of the collection.... "beauty from ashes".....more to come on that soon......
.....but for now enjoy these "before" shots and hopefully by the end of the next few days I'll have some shots of the interior set up......because right now it is a bunch of boxes and stuff strewn all over the place.......as I try to figure out how I want the space to look. I am so excited about the possibilities and all of the extra space........I have so much that I want to show you all.....I just hope I can capture it with the lens........
