guest post: my summer, in objects.

hello, friends! erin from reading my tea leaves, here! while barb is off celebrating the start of summer with a festive family trip to walt disney world, she asked me to share with all of you the objects that mean summer to me--what a treat--thanks barb!

here they are: five little things that mean summer to me.

1. fresh produce.

{because nothing's more delicious than the fruits of a farmer's bounty, sun-ripened and tasty as can be}.

2. screens.

{because open windows mean the sounds of tree-frogs and grasshoppers to lull you to sleep during a respite from the afternoon sun}.

3. lemonade.

{because after a run through the sprinkler, a tall glass of freshly squeezed lemonade is just what you need}.

4. freshly mown grass.

{because wearing shoes is highly overrated when you can run through a lawn full of this}.

5. tiger-lilies.

{because they grew wild in the creek next to my house when i was little, and nothing says summer like these blossoms}.

well friends...class was so fun, and I learned SO much! Katie is a treasure trove of information for all things pretty and fun.......

I can't believe all of the work that goes into each and every piece.....I feel like I could spend days and/or weeks on one.......but for now... here is my little assemblage...........and some photos from the class...

It's vacation time for the {B} family....

well friends.... believe it or not my kiddos are out of school already {as of yesterday!} and we leave on sunday for a week long vacation to disney...

...to say that we are totally flippin' out and ready to go would be an understatement.......we have a game plan, and we're going to try to pack in everything...we're gonna tear it up and wear ourselves out in true {B} style ......

I will try to post a bit {not making any promises!} with some photos from our adventures...... and I will see you back here soon!

the reason thursday is such a great day.......

is because my grandmom and I meet for lunch at 12:30 EVERY week......rain or shine.....

I don't even know how to describe how talented and creative this lady is...she can sew like nobody's business and makes almost everything she wears {including the little number in this photo!}.......she is so tenderhearted and giving........the biggest animal lover, with a super soft spot for kitties....feeding all of the stray cats in the neighborhood, and carrying treats in her pockets for all of the neighborhood dogs that she sees on her morning walks......they just don't come any sweeter friends!

I LOVE you Gi Gi.....and I treasure our lunch dates! See you soon...... xoxo
