really great ideas......

I tell ya...some people have amazing amounts of creativity and ingenuity! I came across these entries for the inhabitat spring greening contest...which has already ended but I was drawn there by the tupperware lights! How great are they! I mean.... ....jello mold lights right? Thanks to plum tree studio for posting them! xo

ship ahoy....

...here is a little before and after on some lovely ship bookends that I found at the flea......they were so dirty and grimey that I took a sanding sponge to them to get all the dirt out of the grooves and the grease off the bases....... then soaked them in warm soapy water to get all the dirt off....... got out a trusty can of spray paint and lickity split....they are showin' out! I don't know if I can part with these.......sigh...

I was tagged by the lovely Kirsten of simply grove.....the object is for me to pick one picture that best suits my design style! This was super hard for me because there are so many different styles that I like and some pictures have parts and then other pictures have the other parts ! So, as I was scrolling around through pictures...I found this one ...and although there are no white walls in my house {although there may be very soon!} I love that the room looks inviting and comfortable...full of favorite collections and cozy chairs.....

...when people come to my house, my whole objective is for them to feel comfortable amongst my "things"....and it is the greatest of honors when a person feels free to take off their shoes and sit indian style on my sofa..... SO in a nut shell .....don't sacrifice style for comfort.....always surround yourself with things you love and things that have meaning, and the style that evolves can't help but be inviting......let your home tell your story!xo

this lovely little ditty beside your bed ............I don't know if I'd want it waking me up in the morning ...but it sure looks fabulous on a desk, dresser, shelf, table......{psssst....remember my obsession with quirky pops of color and conversation pieces for your home?} ...THIS is it!

I am so happy about this find... and the fact that it is bright orange and fabulously oversized.....just makes it perfection! Oh, and the soft ticking sound it makes............... now that will put you to sleep at night! .......let me know if you need this to come live with you!

knack at pink olive....

I am SO excited to announce that one of my favorite stores in New York...Pink Olive..... is now carrying my cake plates! YAY!

You can visit both of Grace's fantastic locations in east village and park slope to check out the goods......and check out her blog for all the latest product and goings on in the city ........I know every time I go to NY, I never leave pink olive empty handed...there are always many treasures to be had!
