KNACK Signage!!
I normally don't post on the weekend, but I just had to share what happened at Knack today!! My husband Jon designed my beautiful banner( as well as art and light's) and Ryan Calloway from Creative Iron Works designed and custom built the wall bracket that holds the banner!! I am so blessed first of all to have such a loving, supportive, amazingly talented husband and second a great artist friend who is willing to create such a masterpiece for Knack!! I can't forget to thank Kevin with CIW also for helping hang the signs today! Thank you so much guys for all your hard work and love that was put into this project, it truly was a great day!!

I came across these photos and just sat and stared forever!! The composition is amazing and the colors.... where to even begin!! This is true originality at it's best! Thanks man for all the help with shipping furniture, you're a pro!! To see more of this talented guy visit his blog, and see his latest creation that was featured in Ready Made Mag!
I'm in love forever!!

Today I want to let you all know about a new book that will be out in July!! You can pre order on Amazon for a great deal right now, and you all are going to love this book! I met Kayte through my flikr page, and have enjoyed looking at all of her beautiful pictures!! You can also check out her etsy shop and purchase her beautiful embellishments!!
About the artist/author:
Kayte Terry is a a crafty dynamo and the brains and brawn behind Love Forever.
As a kid, she and her mom were always making costumes, baking cookies and constructing elaborate dioramas. Kayte continues to believe in the transformative power inherent in making things. In crafting, we are rejecting the consumerist, pre-fab culture we live in and hopefully making our worlds a little bit more beautiful and fulfilling. A year ago, Kayte decided it was time to get down to business and start Love Forever. Shortly after, this blog was born.
Kayte is a member of the Department of Craft, a New York based organization dedicated to independent design and art. She is also a two time organizer of the Ladyfest fashion show in Brooklyn. By day she works as a stylist and visual merchandiser in the big city. Some of her clients are Anthropologie, Parents Magazine, Adorn magazine, Cutting Edge magazine and Brooks Brothers. Her favorite things are rabbits, 90’s club kids, japanese street fashion, paint by numbers, cupcakes and the color pink.
Kayte’s first craft book, Complete Embellishing, will be available in July 2008.
Though she loves New York, she sometimes yearns for peace and quiet, a big house on a long driveway and some trees to look at.
Sara's Art

Well, I'm very long overdue in promoting some famous artists in my family!! My sister in law Sara Mincy is a very accomplished painter!! I LOVE her use of color and the way she incorporates scripture verses into most of her paintings! Sara has come up with a neat way to get her paintings mainstream and that is to have them as prints and note cards!! You can purchase her prints and cards here click on art , and you can also keep up with miss Sara daily at her blog! Sara is a very entertaining writer and you will enjoy her posts!! I think someday this chick is going to have a children's book series and will do all the illustrations herself!! Good stuff! I am privileged to own two of Sara's paintings, one for Thanksgiving that says "give thanks" and one in my kitchen that says "eat good food"!! I love you miss Sara and am so proud of you!!
mellow yellow

I am so excited about this piece!! Last week I bought three new pieces, two to paint and then this one which is already done for me!! The paint and top are in excellent condition......all this piece needed was a little cleaning up and the signature lining of the drawers with paper!! I love it when I find pieces like this every once in a while!! It's fun to mix it up! We styled it yesterday with things from around the gallery....... The lamp and the paintings are available at art and light and the little "squiggle" planter is done by lily pottery and is available locally at the studio, or online!
Welcome Miss Kyle

Wanted to introduce you all to the newest artist in residence!! Kyle has started moving her stuff in right next door, and I couldn't be more excited!! I own one of Kyle's paintings and am a huge fan of both her work and of her!! Kyle has a very cool concept.... she has a textile background and she makes her own canvases out of fabric and then paints right on the fabric!! The results are oh so very great, and I LOVE it!! I have a couple photos here, one being the artist herself and the other of her painting that now lives in my bedroom!! Hugs and kisses Kyle, glad to have you on board!!
Oh Those Cali Girls!!

First off, let me just say how excited I am about all the new people I am meeting and the very sweet people at that!! Last week I got an email from Amanda who lives in Redding California!! All I will tell you about the email was it was a HUGE shot in the arm for me and made my day:) THEN she sends me photos of her work and I was flippin out!! You see we both do furniture re- surfacing, and her work is SUPER GREAT!!!
A little about the artist....... I'm 29 and have been painting seriously for just under a year. I have been married 10 years and have two great kids, 7 and 5. My work goes to four boutiques currently, however, I also do alot of re-design on individual's pieces. The age old "I have a dresser from my grandmother....it has sentimental value but it's ugly and I don't want to mess it up.) This work has an hourly rate and is a bit more pressure because I also don't want to "mess it up"! I feel best in my "workshop". I will set up a myspace under "amuse designs" with more photos. In the meantime, I can be reached at amandasinyard@gmail.com.
I told Amanda based on her comments that we are totally "on the same page" when it comes to commission pieces!! Love them, but they make ya nervous!! Painting in the workshop/ studio is where it is easiest !! I have enjoyed emailing back and forth with this California girl, and not only that, but a Northern Cali girl!! Woo Hoo!! I am meeting so many creative moms !! I also love the fact that as Sylvie put it so eloquently Amanda is taking pieces that "have hung up their dancing shoes" and giving them new purpose!! Way to go!! I'm working on her to set up a blog..... How's that comin' Amanda? We are all dying to keep up with you daily and see all your new work!!:) Hope you all have a great Tuesday!!
