memorial day

Today I want to deviate from my normal post material and remember why we have this holiday weekend. What is a hero? I think today a hero can be mistaken for a movie star , a sports star ,a rock star , someone who gives all their time and money to charity, etc. While some of these people may do great things because of resources available to them, in my mind the true heroes are rather the men and women who shed their blood and gave their lives for our freedom!! I also find it interesting that a true hero is a quiet humble soul, you have to pry the info out of them as to how they saved their whole ship or regimen from disaster or saved whole villages of people freeing them from bondage and fear, how we today have all the freedoms that we have because of what they have done and are still doing!! You don't see them walking around proclaiming what they have accomplished, and all of them would go back no matter what, without hesitation and do it again for FREEDOM, and for this country.........for us. These men and women are true heroes and my heart is overwhelmed with gratitude for what they have done for me and for my country. Thank you to the men and women who are still fighting and giving their lives for the very thing we all take for granted. Say "thank you" today to anyone who has served us in this way, thank you for being my hero.

wire

I wanted to share a few photos of some of the wire that I'm ordering!! I have the shelving in stock and the wire chairs in brown, although I may give them a summer spruce up! I saw them in Real Simple magazine in white!! The four tier and floor model wire baskets are amazing and when I sold the three tiered ones I couldn't keep them in stock!! These are great ways to organize and store everything!!

Cake stands (this is for you mom!)

While my husband was away and I had a hard time sleeping..... I found a article about making cake stands from found plates and bases SO...... I made a few of my own:) I had all the supplies already on my goody shelves so I went to town and I have to say that these are fast becoming my favorite new treat!! I again love the fact that items are being re-purposed , but not only that, they have great function and originality! Perfect for wedding gifts or hostess gifts ....... best paint brushes

I thought I'd throw out a little piece of painting info!! I have a favorite paint brush that I buy ALWAYS and I use them over and over and over!! I went to my local Sherwin Williams to pick up a couple more and they were on sale!! Woo Hoo! That's always great!! I swear by these and they give the best finish!! The brand is Sherwin Williams, the name is contractor series, the size and description is 2" and 2 1/2" angle sash brush for latex paints...... happy painting:)

I'm baaaaack!!

Hey guys!! Missed you all so much!!:) So glad to be back in computer land!! As promised I have lots of goods for you!! The cream piece is finished, and I should have a styled shot up Friday afternoon!!:) Life has been a little busy!!

Enough of that, I'm posting this on Wed night, because I'm getting up very early and taking the kids to the beach tomorrow morning!!:) I want to introduce you all to a sweet , sweet girl named solveig! This girl is a constant source of" posotiveness"!! I just totally made that word up!! Solveig is part of a group of my friends in bergen, and oslo!! This chick is getting her masters in finance!! Smarty pants!!:) Not only is she smart, but she has great design skills!! Anyway, her and a good friend and her little sister do a blog together and I just love their taste! The whole blog is in norwegian, so solveig will graciously translate for me sometimes!! :) Thank you solveig for being such a sweet, kind friend and for your inspiration as well!! This picture is one from de flittige that I thought was so great, and it comes from a danish magazine, so enjoy!!

Good news and bad news!!:)

Well, I guess I'll give you the bad news first, and then I can follow up with all the good! I will not have access to the computer for the next few days ..... so I won't be able to post again until Thursday morning!! I'm so sad, BUT .... I will have the finished picture of the cream piece, AND I have a great story on some new friends of mine in Norway to share with you when I start again next week!! The two images here are, first, my five foot tall 3 foot wide signage that will be going up on my studio front next week (yes I will have more photos of that!!) and my special little owl pen and pencil hold everything piece!! So I leave you, but I shall return!! Be ready!!:)

eye poppin good!

I have for you an artist today who inspires me in more ways than one!! I had come across a project of hers before of the yellow bird painted on fabric, and tore it out, visited her website and all the rest...... THEN last night while doing some serious magazine research I see that she has a fabric line out and it completely blows me away!! The color and graphics are just gorgeous, the photos are breath taking ( at least for me), and the most amazing thing of all to me as a mom of two is she is a mom to FIVE!! Wow, wouldn't I love to sit and pick her brain for a while on that!!:) Well, you all enjoy this and visit annamaria here , or her website .
