FYI- My legs are craving these pantaloons
I am serious when I say that these three pairs of pants will hopefully be finding their way to my closet very soon.Freshies for Fall. All available at Target......xo,Barb
FYI- A chair for Granny
I just finished this custom chair for a client.....and it was such a privilege for me to take this project on. This rocker belongs to a sweet 91 year old lady who will be coming to live with her family here in Greenville very soon. There is a little cottage on the property being prepared for this special lady.....and it is going to be so precious! I love thinking about her peacefully rocking in her chair.....just chillin like a villain.xo,Barb{p.s. and you thought I didn't have any furniture for you this week.....tsk tsk}
FYI- Meet Ann.....my new partner in crime
I am so thankful for my new intern, Ann! Ann is a senior studio art major at BJU, a local university here in Greenville. I absolutely love having art majors/creatives as interns because they truly understand how to manipulate paint, pull ideas out of thin air, love detail ...and there is really no instruction involved on my part! Ann has already proven herself to be super detailed {brownie points} and a hard worker....we are going to have a great semester together.This is the second intern that I have been gifted with, and I am super stoked about meeting a new friend and having the opportunity to learn and grow together over the next few months. Timing could not be more perfect, and I am excited to learn from Ann, and also to help Ann explore what a creative business is all about!Hit it....and let the good times roll.xo,Barb
FYI- Spray paint, fresh in a can
I have been excitedly flitting around the new studio organizing, creating, hanging shelves, cleaning, and throwing away multiple garbage cans full of "stuff". This week though, it has been all about: " what can I get my hands on and spray paint with matte black paint?!"I am currently working on multiple projects, both custom and my own.....but the main one that I am working on for myself right now is the check out desk. I am really wanting everything on the new desk to be clean and unified. In order to make this happen {in my opinion}, I felt like the owl pencil holder, and vintage letter holder that I have used for the past few years needed a bit of freshening. I love how the black owl looks....period.....but oh my goodness it is smashing alongside the new candles! I wish you all could smell these candles through the computer screen.....they are amazing. I digress...I promise I'll fill you in on the candles soon....and will give a full preview of my amazing check out desk {built by my dad, painted by yours truly} on Friday......it is all coming together quite well! I am really getting excited about Knack's grand opening coming up on October 19th! Woot!I will be crazy this month getting ready for all of the goodness that is about to happen, but it just means there will be lots of tidbits to share with all of you....so hang on! Here we go....xo,Barb
FYI- I crave little clay houses
One of the benefits that comes from having really creative and talented friends, and from being active in a thriving arts community.....is that when you need a special gift, unique one of a kind treats, or just plain old inspiration....you simply have to pick up the phone....or in my case walk up the street! I am spoiled completely, and I know it! I am so thankful for my friends in the art community and admire their talent so much!I wanted to get a little something special for the people who wrote quotes for the back of my book jacket, my fabulous editor, and the special someone who wrote the forward for my book! Several weeks back, you may remember me talking about my very special studio warming gift from my friend Jen .........well, it was at that moment that it hit me......I want CRAVE to make little sets of white houses for all my special peeps! Peepity, peep, peep....I couldn't be more excited to send these little handmade pieces from my neck of the woods to places like Canada, Europe, San Fran, New York, and Alabama!I am excited about them...and I hope the recipients will truly enjoy them!You all may order little houses for yourself as well....{yippee}..... just visit Crave on Facebook, or pop by her shop on Pendleton Street to place your order!Thank you Jen for making little houses!xo,Barb
FYI- Cross stitch on steroids
I recently came across these photographs of a collection of rugs and furniture poufs by Belgian designer Charlotte Lancelot in collaboration with Gan Rugs. I know these have been around the "internets" a bit....but I totally wanted them to grace my blog. I love them, think they are so beautiful, and they inspire me to create.So well done.xo,Barb
FYI- nifty wood coasters
I have been busy gathering goodies for the shop and getting everything all geared up for Knack's grand opening in October! I am super excited about these awesome little sets of wooden coasters. There are 6 different designs {2 of each} and they are just plain fun.....especially the rotary phone and the soda pop top!These awesome coasters can be purchased at Antiques on Augusta in the Knack booth, and also at the Knack shop! The price point is awesome.....15.00 for a set of 12.Different, unique.....and a conversation starter. Get some!xo,Barb
FYI- A doe, a deer, a donkey, and a roo
I am so excited to be carrying this brand spankin' new line of goods at Knack! These dancing deer, donkey boy, and kangaroo pillows seriously had me doing a jig when I opened the package! I did a jig, and twirled, and let out a little choked
sob scream wail chortle.....and then looked around and was very thankful the paper is still on the windows so that no one had to be subjected to such frivolity and craziness.It almost makes me feel guilty that I get so excited about a shipment of pillows...but then again, if I didn't... I should just quit and close up shop.... pronto. I am very intentional about each and every item that I hand select and put the Knack stamp of approval on...and these have Knack written all over them! Stamp, stamp, stamp!These pillows are just the first part of the goodies to come in this line....look for much more to come!{pillows are $58 ea and are available for immediate purchase} xo,Barb
